I'm again suspicious of your PATH. Here's mine:

%SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\System32\Wbem;C:\Program Files\Intel\Wireless\Bin\;C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Imaging\;C:\PROGRA~1\CA\SHARED~1\SCANEN~1;C:\Program Files\CA\eTrust Antivirus;c:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\90\Tools\binn\

Notice the system directories at the beginning. These should be first, as they should be the first place the system looks for executables. Since they didn't show up in yours, I'm almost curious if something wiped your PATH out. You can try putting those back in (just edit the value from that dialog) and see if that fixes it. ping, for example, is in the %systemroot%\system32 directory.

True. On the other hand, the Mac community is stereotypically middle to upper class and/or working professionally from their computer. This makes a workable exploit still profitable, especially if stealing IP is involved. For instance, I recall hearing (from an industry source, not the media) about an exploit in Photoshop on OSX only that would upload the user's projects to a server owned by the exploit authors. This only affected a very small population (people using that version of PS on that version of OSX) so it wasn't publicized - which might also allow the exploit to live longer - and the payoff was a bunch of potentially valuable content.

A windows virus has the potential to have larger global effect, which makes it more desirable for short term use (e.g. DDoS) or for building a bot net (like Storm). If it gets well known, it will be blocked by AV products sooner than later and the virus will be less successful, plus if the media talks about it, then people will [hopefully] know how to avoid getting it or how to get rid of it.

[edit:] another thought: Apple doesn't want publicity about OSX exploits, as it will damage the "safer than Windows" image of their product. Also, a good many Windows-specific exploits are for Windows-specific software but not the OS itself. Having the OS hardened can prevent a lot of exploits from running, but they'd break compatibility with most software. The end-user usually isn't willing to …

Why not help make some of these places better places to be? One poster said it himself; mexico is crap.

Aside from the political and economic reasons not to, the US does give a lot out. There are many, many non-profit organizations that do improvement projects overseas, and the US government gives out a ton of aid every year (enough so that some people at home would rather see the money put to use cleaning our own country first). Unfortunately, a lot of those funds end up going through corrupt government channels, and the aid never reaches it's intended destination or purpose. If you'd prefer, the US could go around and depose all the corrupt governments guilty of this, but somehow I think the rest of the world would frown on such action.

I don't know. But most here will tell you to never use void main()

They'll probably tell you to never use goto as well, but that doesn't mean you should just listen to them. Find out why, and then do what is best; and yes, the popular opinion can be wrong sometimes.

main() is a special function that, as mentioned, returns to the OS a value signifying if it completed successfully or not (0 being success, any other being typically an error). The OS usually doesn't act on that, but other programs waiting for yours might. The C and C++ standards have specified that main() should return an int-compatible type (which void is not). So, there's both technical and conventional reasons why you should not use void.

First tip: don't trade just based on someone's advice. Do your own research to make sure you agree with them. This doesn't mean to ignore them, just not to blindly follow.

I'll start with HDY: avoid it. My reason is simple, it just doesn't have enough volume. This makes it more prone to quick jumps and less liquidity. If nobody's trading it when it drops, you'll never get out.

DYN: Bearish outlook. While it's at a several year high, it looks like it's currently running on fumes. Also, it's got a very low value, which leaves litte room for movement one way or the other. I wouldn't touch it, personally. There's bigger fish to fry.

PFE: It looks like it'll break one way or another soon, but cant' tell which. Earnings on July 19th will likely be a driving force, and chart patterns suggest that it could go either up or down. I'd not touch stock on it, 'cause you have to pick sides. It might be feasible to try a 27.5 straddle with September or December options, but the stock'll have to move a few points in either direction to make it profitable; it's not been particularly volatile in the last year though, so the odds of that happening are probably low. Also, 28 has been a point of resistance in the past, so breaking it will require a bit of a push...

Overall: find something more attractive :icon_wink:

the·o·ry –noun, plural -ries.
1.a coherent group of general propositions used as principles of explanation for a class of phenomena: Einstein's theory of relativity.
2.a proposed explanation whose status is still conjectural, in contrast to well-established propositions that are regarded as reporting matters of actual fact.
3.Mathematics. a body of principles, theorems, or the like, belonging to one subject: number theory.

I don't see it happening, at least not given the current status of each company. Microsoft is already pouring a ton of money into their search, and they are quickly improving their product. I can't see them gaining anything by integrating Yahoo's search. The benefit for Microsoft AFAICT would be in the other services Yahoo provides, which are very very widely used. Unfortunately for Microsoft, I don't think that buying out the services for the userbase is a good idea either.

Floating point numbers are not stored precisely in memory. They are usually stored according to the IEEE 754 standard. If you want exact precision, you need to use a 3rd party library or write your own. For most calculations, however, the small degree of error is acceptable.

Infarction 503 Posting Virtuoso

The one problem I see is that you can't compare floating point numbers directly. Here's a re-write with slightly different logic (you can keep yours if you want, they're about the same) and a better way to compare the doubles:

#include <cmath>
#include <limits>
triangleType triang(double a, double b, double c)
{
  const double eps = std::numeric_limits<double>::epsilon();
  triangleType shape = scalene;
  if( fabs(a - b) <= eps && fabs(a - c) <= eps)
    shape = equilateral;
  else if( fabs(a-b) <= eps || fabs(a - c) <= eps)
    shape = isosceles;
  else if ( a > b + c || b > a + c || c > a + b) // this could be first like you had it
    shape = noTriangle;
  return shape;
}

Admittely, I just copied the epsilon thing from some google result, so I don't know if that's the correct way to go about it.
