Your statement does not set a form location. It just creates a point structure. To set a form position in C++ you can do SetWindowPos(hwnd, NULL, x, y, 0, 0, SWP_NOSIZE | SWP_NOZORDER);

Astrology is BS. The only reasons to consult an astrologist are: 1. You want bad advice 2. You have too much money and you want to throw some away If #2, consider donating to an animal shelter instead.

Without knowing what opportunities are available for each, would you be happier building the tools, or using them? In both cases you'll need the same core skill set. In my case I found it much more fulfilling to build the tools.

My biggest fear is an expansion of misinformation to the extent that we will not be able to trust that anything we see, hear, or read will have any basis in reality.

Never mind the robots. They've been promising me flying cars since 1950. Where is my flying car? ![Flying_Cars.jpg](https://static.daniweb.com/attachments/3/6e2832c60bf9dbca44507231ce074d07.jpg)

I developed a Sudoku app in Python and doing it without using OOP would have been torturous. Using wxPython without OOP would be near impossible.

Depending on the age of the child, Logo is also a decent way to introduce programming. Kids are more visually oriented. They want to see the computer doing more than just printing words or numbers on a screen. Logo allows them to write simple programs to control a digital turtle …

>It is not specifically known for discussions on astrology or numerology However, we probably have no shortage of people who would be willing to point out that astrology and numerology (and several other "ologies" and "opathies") have no basis in reality.

I suppose that will partly depend on whether or not the inserted records are an "all or nothing" transaction. When I had to bulk insert 8000+ records at one time it was important that either all the records go in, or none. Recovering from a partial insert would have taken …

I can't speak on optimization in general without seeing the code. In my previous life I was a Windows SysAdmin/dbadmin as well as a digital plumber. I wrote many apps that had to move large quantities of data from place to place, for example, importing 16000+ records into a SQL …

On checking your posts I see that you had one down-vote for posting in an 8 year old thread. When a thread is that old there is no reason to post in it unless you have something pertinent to add to the conversation. In your case you basically duplicated what …

It's hard for me to imagine that all of the pleasure I've gotten out of Daniweb, the challenges, the insights, the friendships since I joined in 2010, are all dependent on the largesse of just one very talented person. I, for one, appreciate all you have done, particularly considering your …

What about eden100 who 8 years ago posted >Use Long Path Tool, Long Path Tool can simplify and probably end your problems in unlocking, managing and renaming files that appear to have a long filename.

I'd definitely follow that. My older son does a fair bit of AI work and he exclusively uses Python with Pytorch. I would strongly recommend that over C++. Also, if you aren't familiar with Jupyter notebooks I suggest you have a look - I found that vscode was the interface …

A big problem today is that people have forgotten the purpose of language. In my day (cue Seth Meyers routine) language was intended to convey ideas from one person to another. Similarly to data transmission, we want to get the information from one person to another as quickly and as …
