Let me explain: As a hobby project recently I've been trying to vibe-code AGI prototype. Anyhow, this of course leads to the question: what websites will be either of great help for developers or even used by an AGI in its recursive learning and improvement (excluding daniweb.com i mean...)?
I can think of 3 absolute gold mines:
- lmarena (great for code generation)
- shodan (I know, I know! I'm not saying someone should use it for hacking but it's a great source for legally accessible webcams so it could be learning source for computer vision.
- Wikipedia: millions of articles, little protection against bots, easy layout to parse, academic knowledge.
Maybe .edu domains too? Youtube?? I know github or stackoverflow will be mentioned but i find tedious the auto code-extraction from github + i no longer use stackoverfow for oneliner steals, for obvious reason: chatbots. What do you think?
Possible path to agi:
- in the near future: chatgpt6/claude 5/gemini 3 on lamerana used for autogen of 10k or so LOC.
- Shodan, wiki, programming books downloaded from .edu domains used by the agi for learning -> "profit" (Yudkowsky gets very stressed lol, he actually blocked me 5 times on twitter (x), then unblocked me and said "he never did so and I was lying" - frankly it was my mistake since i meant to say he blocked me on my previous alts, not on my last account but anyhow).
With chatgpt5 failing to meet the high expectations and the ~80% on non-agi "above average" software coding tasks (Humaneval, SWE), I think it's safe to say we aren't getting a P=NP solver or cancer cure finder just yet but in 1-2 years maybe it will be possible.
Either way I see no reason for us to wait for a Scifi movie where Zuckerberg buys 1000 gpus and presses a button and then: AGI. After all anyone with laptop anywhere can leverage the power of internet and achieve the same mixing several sources.
