A client has asked me to add a data mining module to a database of customer orders.
I'd appreciate if anyone can point me to an algorithm which can help find trends and order patters from a group of dates.
Does something like this exist? I'm stuck with VBA as my language as the database is access and there is no budget to implement any other types of libraries.
I'd appreciate any help here.
A method does exist, ask a statistian, i used it in biology once to analyse whether there was a significant change (thats the key bit to the method) between cultures of bacteria over a period of time. This same method could be applied to say, sales of varying products over time and could analyse whether there was a significant difference in sales (which i suppose would be useful for seeing if an advertising campaign worked or something). Ill try and think of the name of the method.
