All of these things have to do with your internet connection. Can you tell us more about the system? How will you connect to the internet? What type of ISP do you use? Have you installed the drivers for your ethernet, wireless network adapter, and dialup modem?

I think you will find that "SMTP.gmail.com" would work better than "outgoing.verizon.net:" but that is the "name." On another page, you should find the mail server settings. Make sure there is no ":" at the end of the outgoing mail server, and use port 587 if you ISP is Verizon; …

Sounds like you are using a wireless connection. Low Signal or interference will do that. A common problem is wireless land-line phones that operate on 2.4Ghz Range (or your neighbors). If your router and adapter support 802.11n or 802.11b, they operate on 5Ghz. 802.11b would be very slow though. Good …

Have you tried uninstalling the mouse from the device manager? you will have to use the keyboard to refresh the pnp hardware (and reinstall your mouse). after the uninstall completes, press Alt, then A, then A to rescan. Good Luck Post back here if that does not fix the problem.

I think you have demonstrated that it is the site. Will you post the entire error? I have a feeling that the authentication is taking too long at the server.

I'll over-simplify it: Information travels along cables to and through various points called nodes. The first part of an IP address indicates the network node, and the last part indicates the host node. A subnet mask indicates how many networks an IP address range is divided into and how many …

Do you have a good (and stable) wireless signal? Don't be fooled by the fact that you can get a page as it may be cached (stored on your computer). Navigating to pages you have not been to is the test!

Keep looking, a fuse would not make a puff of smoke normally. Was the smoke from the mobo or psu? Did the fans all turn? If you don't see anything wrong with the mobo or do find something burned in psu, I would replace it.
