Not enough info. What problems are you having with XP? Upgrading is both expensive and time consuming, and probably not worth it in most cases.

It sounds as though the drive needs to be formatted. You may have accidentally deleted the partition when you reinstalled. What info do you see in Disk management?
A damn fine answer from kfawcett that will be much appreciated by many who don't quite know what's what with licences.
Maybe not so fine. In theory, a 3 user license won't allow installing on a fourth computer, if that's what the OP is stating. It's quite possible to use …

Make sure the C drive is selected as first in the boot order in the BIOS. Does the D drive power up when the computer is turned on? You probably need to take off the cover so you can hear it properly. Touching the outside of the drive case may …

Does your wireless card have a switch? Make sure it's on. Don't try re-seating the Nic on a laptop. It's not necessary. Can you connect via ethernet? Is the Wireless Zero service running?

I installed my free version of 64 Bit Vista Ultimate this morning, and it was fairly simple. ASUS A8V Deluxe 2 GB DDR2 NVIDIA GeForce 6200 Athlon 64 3200+ I'm dual-booting with XP Home, Vista is on a second drive making the install very simple. There was a minor hang …

Why would you want to do this? Broadcasting the signal is handled by the hardware in the access point, and I don't see how a computer can do this. There are many things I don't know, but this sounds very strange to me.

Is that a SATA drive? You need to "Press F6" during the install to install the SATA drivers.

Do you get an error message? This problem is typical of some Spyware infections. Try Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware: http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php

You shouldn't need to enter anything at all to get this router working. Reset to defaults. Connect to modem and computer. Start surfing. Your default Gateway should be 192.168.1.1

It looks like there are two possibilities-ATI or Intel. Go here, enter your service tag to see which is correct and download the driver. http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen&ServiceTag=&SystemID=INS_PNT_6000&os=WW1&osl=en&catid=&impid=

It looks to me as though the two devices are using identical IP addresses, which is a no-no. (192.168.1.1 is the same as 192.168.1.100) Change the default address of the router.

I had this same problem, and it really pissed me off. Not only does WOC suck, but they're trying to tell me what I can and can't delete on my own computer! Anyhoo, the fix is a pain in the butt. How could a keyboard "feel weird"? In any case, I think it's the only solution as you've damaged the PS2 connector. You probably shouldn't use it at all. Post a pic of the kitten.

See here: http://www.informit.com/articles/article.aspx?p=1165037 It's long-winded, but it will get the job done. Networking really sucks in Vista, but persevere and you'll succeed.

I don't see how resetting the BIOS would help, but it would be a good idea to look in the BIOS to see if the drive is recognized. If it's not listed, it may have failed. Can you hear any sounds from the drive?

You should be able to select any available channel through the router set up page. 1, 6, 11 are standard. Check for a router firmware update.

When my Samsung did this I eventually had to replace it. They said monitor power supply or backlight. Check to see if the warranty is still good.

Overheating or power supply. Check the diagnostic light or get your PS checked. http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/ws650/en/ug/advanced.htm Your remark about "annoying people" seems particularly inappropriate. Try re-phrasing it to avoid annoying people. :)

In Device Manager, rt-click the Adapter, select "Uninstall" then reboot. If the adapter is found on restart, it's properly installed. It sounds as though you also have a Dell Utility installed to manage the wireless adapter. Look for something like "Dell wireless utility" on the program menu and open it. …

What you did was reboot, which is often all it takes to eliminate a rogue process or program that's fouling up the works. It's also well known that Windows PCs work better on even-numbered days. :)

In all cases I've seen, an external drive must be set to master. This setting is usually clearly marked on the drive, so don't guess. Once you've got the jumper set correctly, look at this drive in Disk Management to get an accurate idea of what's up.
