None of them.

a) the going rate for a particular skill depends on geography (where are you?)
b) it depends on the economic cycle.
c) it depends on whether it's been made obsolete by something newer and better.

One minute you're flying high and the next, your skills in codegrubber 4 aren't worth spit.

Picking what is hot now is WAY WAY too late.
a) there's already plenty of people with plenty of experience.
b) by the time you get to their level, the party will be over.

Just take any one skill and become the master of that

and anything that's easy AND popular won't pay much. After all, there's tons of people doing it and it's easy to learn so there's nothing special to it.

What pays well are things that are hard to do yet in demand, as there will be few practitioners at a high level of expertise.

Php is a easy to learn language.
Is easiest than Java of C++, is very popular, and wide demanded in most countries.

But some web sites are migrating to joomla, drupal and other CSM where theres no deep php knowledge needed. As I know.
