Re: You shouldn't have to manually submit your site to any of the search engines anymore. Engines like Google find your site by crawling the web, following links from other sites pointing to your site. The more sites that link to you, and the more "authority" those sites have (based on …
Re: Trackback URLs are used mostly for blogs and sometimes forums. Other blogs that link to a particular article ping the article's trackback URL, and "inform" the blog that their article has been mentioned or quoted.
Re: Yeah, I didn't change anything having to do with that. Glad you got it sorted out.
Re: I think it's interesting that ten years ago, email was looked at as the most modern way of conversing with friends, replacing snail mail. However, today, even email is looked at as archaic, with Facebook and Tweeting on the go being the most contemporary way of keeping in touch with …

Re: As far as I know, you'd need the proprietary ATi software. Check ati's website is all I can offer. A friend of mine has an ATi All-in-Wonder video card/built-in tv tuner and the ATi TV Wonder software is the only thing that will work.
Re: Sorry, I don't know much about the real estate niche at all. In fact, how would affiliate marketing even work? Would it be a cost-per-lead for a potential sale to a broker?
Re: Umm ... That's not good news. How can we help?
Re: I've thought about this many times, but have decided to hold off until the next reincarnation of the DaniWeb design. In the meantime, exploring all of the many vast features of the site is half the experience.

Re: OS X is built on top of BSD. As far as I know, the file system (journaled HFS+) coupled with OS X does not need to be defragmented - it is a process that happens automatically in the background. Perhaps others can clarify?

Re: I hope that there's another big algo change in the works. I'm just waiting for the day when one of them will knock us back up to where we used to be. It really can't get much worse, so anything can only be an improvement for us.
Re: It's horrendous practice to keep all three URLs active. First choose one URL you want to use from now on. Re: While I agree with you, the flip side is that it's really difficult to organize categories and subcategories in a forum where there is overlap just about everywhere. Re: Sanjay, don't you mean that you don't think you CAN convince them to redo the site just b/c of validator errors? I know many sites don't pay attention to validator errors.
